a quick introduction, from me to you
Hello! *waves* My name is Jan (he/him/his) and this is my wicked coroner of the web. I'm 29 years old and a long time Internet denizen. I grew up making custom spaces on Xanga, Myspace, Neopets, Gaiaonline, Livejournal, etc... Neocities is my new haunt now. As of February 2022, I work as a web developer.
I'm very much an open book. A few calculated clicks, and you can find as much information as you want about me. But there's not much to say... to be honest with you, I'm just some person! A person with depth, sure, but nothing too incredible or eye-opening.

Below is a veritable cornucopia of random/fun facts, to break the ice and get to know me as a person.
- I love to draw and have drawn cartoons, fan art, anime and such my entire life.
- I like writing, especially poetry. I got my start in novel writing and poetry at an early age.
- I majored in art history, but never got my degree.
- I'm learning the piano. Aside from that, I love playing and singing music of all kinds.
- I'm learning how to speak German. Ein Bier, bitte!
- If it isn't already obvious, I love to program! Even though I've done it for years, I feel like I'm still a novice.
- I am starting to travel the world, and would like to share my experiences at some point.
- Fiction of all kinds is something I'm deeply interested in. Currently watching Star Trek: Voyager.
- Puzzles and games are something I'm deeply interested in. Currently playing: Pokemon Arceus.
- I have a pet turtle named Poirot, after Agatha Christie's famous Belgian detective.
- I'm all about perceiving with the senses, and being enriched.
- I keep a great selection of wine deep in my cellar. It's under construction down there, but let me know if you ever want to have a look!

I encourage you to download and use a screenreader, such as Pericles, or an acceptable equivalent for your browser. Web accessibility is by no means a new subject on the Internet. However, such topics broaching basic human compassion and sustainability are often drowned out by proponents of ultimately useless technologies, such as the blockchain. Do yourself a favor and fight against this. Eliminate capitalist bloat! Yes, I am anti-NFT and crypto and blockchain!
